Operation and important features of the Hikmicro Thunder TQ50CL 3.0 in the test

H2: Operation and important features of the Hikmicro Thunder TQ50CL 3.0 in the test
Compared to the previous model, the manufacturer promises the 3.0 version numerous improvements – both in terms of user-friendliness and technical performance. We will check for you whether they keep these promises. Below we have the most important operating functions of the Thunder TQ50CL 3.0 clearly compiled:

  • Hand mode:
In addition to its function as an attachment, you can You can also put the device into handheld mode. The only drawback: the eye rest, as you know it from classic handheld devices, is of course missing here. However, the handheld mode offers a picture-in-picture mode as well as a Zoom Pro featureThanks to the advanced image processing algorithm, the Thunder 3.0 every detail clearly and distinctly. This allows you to better identify the type of game and recognize details in the skin or rind - right down to determining the sex.
Both the handheld mode and the attachment mode have a tilt sensor, which automatically puts the device into standby mode when it is not in use – this has really been thought through, great!
  • Laser range finder:
The laser rangefinder is integrated directly into the lens, which makes the device pleasantly compact. The laser is also protected by the lens cover. When using the laser rangefinder in attachment mode, a picture-in-picture function opens, which moves all relevant displays downwards. Make sure to change from yards to meters in the settings, as this is not the default setting. The laser has a measuring range of up to 1000 meters. However, measurement errors can occasionally occur in heavy fog or on reflective surfaces - this should be taken into account when using the device.
  • Battery changing system:
The TQ50CL 3.0 is equipped with a battery replacement system that works with in-house interchangeable batteries. Two of these batteries are included in the delivery. After being fully charged via the external charging cradle, the batteries offer a running time of 6 hours each, according to the manufacturer. In practice, however, we estimate the running time to be more realistic 3 to 4 hours. The charger is easily connected to a power source using the cable provided. The battery system impresses with its compact design and user-friendly handling, as was already the case with the 2.0 series. It is characterized by high user-friendliness and is therefore particularly suitable for hunting use.
  • View recordings directly on the device:
An innovative new feature of the 3.0 series is the ability to play videos directly on the device. The virtual reticle in the video recordings allows you to check the aiming point afterwards and to judge how the shooter got off the animal This provides valuable support for analyzing hunting situations and adapting the approach if necessary.

In addition, the device has a recoil sensor. When this function is activated, automatically creates video recordings seven seconds before and after the recoil. These can be accessed via the Hikmicro Sight app can be easily downloaded and used for further analysis or to exchange information with fellow hunters or can also be viewed directly on the device.

  • Optimized bullet menu:
The bullet menu has been further improved and now allows precise adjustment to different distances. The user canClick adjustment to suit the respective distance, to achieve even more precise adjustment. In addition, the display can be reduced in size so that important information remains easy to read even at high magnification. Of course, as usual, it is possible to save several glass profiles in order to switch flexibly between different setups.
